Thrift Store
Our Thrift Store is open to members of the community and enables them to stretch their dollars, while supporting Neighbor To Neighbor, as all the profits are poured right back into Neighbor To Neighbor's community service program. This store exists to improve the quality of our Family Emergency program while offering the general public a thrift shopping opportunity. Come and visit us.

Family Emergency Assistance
Through its Family Emergency Assistance Department, Neighbor to Neighbor is committed to serving the community by providing assistance to families and individuals to their time of crisis. They also strive to assist clients in personal progress by providing programs that facilitate development and growth.
Who is eligible for this service?
- Families in crisis in Berrien, Cass and Van Buren counties.
- All AU students with current ID.
How can one get this service?
- Clients need to obtain a referral. Referrals issued from a church or case worker employed by an authorized agency will be accepted. Referrals should be (preferably typed) on the organization’s letterhead.
- Make an appointment either by phone or in person.
- Keep your appointment and bring with you your referral and picture ID.
What is the process?
A brief assessment is done by a social work intern or an interviewer. After evaluating the client’s situation, they are informed of services and resources that N2N can provide to meet the clients’ specific need.
What can clients receive?
Resources available include but are not limited to, clothing, furniture, food, bedding and household items based on the availability of these items.
How often can one get these services?
Clients are eligible for Emergency Assistance once every four months.
What are the hours?
Tuesday: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm and Thursday: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
